Youngstown’s popular rock-n-roll band The Vindys will once again be touring with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. The Benatar plus Giraldo Spring Tour 2025 was announced Tuesday. As was the case last summer, The Vindys will open for them on 24 of their 25 stops.

The Vindys will go back on tour this spring with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. The Youngstown-based rockers also toured with Benatar and Giraldo last summer.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo invited The Vindys back for an encore. The Youngstown band will open for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees for a 26-city tour running from April 18 through June 1. Last summer The Vindys opened for Benatar and Giraldo on a 22-city trek that was the group’s first cross-country tour.

The Vindys had planned to work on a new album in the summer of 2024.

Instead, the band got an offer it couldn’t refuse — joining Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldoon a national tour over the summer, including a gig at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park in Indianapolis.

Lita Ford, former Runaway and Ozzy Osbourne collaborator, and Youngstown’s The Vindys will play a benefit show for the Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.

Lita Ford will come to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 31. Opening the 7:30 p.m. concert will be The Vindys.

Youngstown rockers The Vindys have been hot news in northeast Ohio for while now. The group, fronted by charismatic singer/guitarist/lyricist Jackie Popovec, debuted ten years ago and woodshedded for a few years in obscurity before their reputation in northeast Ohio started to snowball and expand beyond the area. Popovec is the band’s main attraction, with a powerful yet nuanced style that recalls classic R&B vocalists such as Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner. But she’s well supported by a hard-rocking band that features led John Anthony and Rick Deak on guitars and harmony vocals.

The Vindys are not newcomers to the world of rock n' roll; they're not veterans yet either and the nice thing about the band is that they have not fallen into the trap that ensnares many of the acts today; they've got a touch of an old school mentality in their approach.

Oh, they’re so fabulous (The Vindys), They’ve opened for us a few times, sporadically. I love them, and I love (frontwoman Jackie Popovec). She’s amazing. Sometimes I’m worried about putting her on first. I’m like, “(Expletive) — that girl can sing her ass off.” But it helps me sing my ass off, so I’m good. But they’re great kids and wonderful. We just said, “We can pick anybody we want — let’s pick them.” We’re happy they’re with us.

The room right next to Jackie Popovec’s kitchen is supposed to be the dining room. But with guitars on the wall, other instruments and amps scattered about and freshly arrived merch nearby, the singer of The Vindys just laughs off the room’s transition.
